ROOSTERS Our two current roosters are somewhat aggressive but not real bad. I let my son play with the chicks a lot when they were babies (including these two roosters) and I think that is why these two roosters aren't perfect. They don't chase us all over the yard but I have had a few instances of them jumping on my children when I wasn't right there with them. |

To the left are pictures of the roosters that SIRED OUR HENS. Our current roosters look very much like these two except with more perfect combs and one has pink legs, the other yellow. nbsp; I like roosters that don't attack me and hens that aren't real flighty. My current flock is near perfect in that regard. I am somewhat disappointed the current two roosters have attacked the kids but I believe it was an issue with my son playing with them. Roosters turn out best if they are not handled at all. One in a million will turn out okay if handled, the rest will turn out mean. It's just the way they are. The Penedesenca and Welsummer blood has made them slightly more active but not extremely flighty. A good mix for a free ranging chicken. |
